From welly wanging to the Women in Finance Awards – Your de Mellow & Co team update
We have some exciting news to share in our de Mellow & Co update this time around.
Alongside an impressive award shortlisting for one of our dedicated financial planners, read about our inspiring financial education workshops for secondary schoolers, an unexpected sporting achievement for director Chris, and more.
But first…
Yasmin Barlow Mills has been shortlisted for the Professional Adviser Women in Finance Awards

We’re delighted to announce that de Mellow & Co financial planner Yasmin Barlow-Mills has been shortlisted for the Professional Adviser Women in Finance Awards 2026.
Yasmin is up for an award in the Most Inspiring Returner category, an incredible achievement. /
The whole de Mellow & Co team are incredibly proud of Yasmin’s dedication, and we’re sure you’ll join us in wishing her all the best when the winner is announced.
Inspiring local youngsters to think about their financial futures
Members of the de Mellow & Co team headed out into the community at the end of July to deliver financial education workshops for children in a local secondary school.
Our trainee financial planners taught 12- and 13-year-olds with a focus on thinking about their financial futures and how to build a strong foundation while weighing up how different careers and incomes could affect the lifestyle they can lead.
If your school might be interested in running a complimentary financial education session with the help of our expert team, please reach out.
Sports Day at de Mellow reveals some hidden talents
The Commonwealth Games and the European Athletics Championships inspired our team to don their tracksuits and head out for a team sports day in August.
We had a great day of friendly competition enjoyed in good spirit and revealed some surprising talents all along the way.
Who knew Chris would be so good at welly wanging?
De Mellow returns to the South Downs Show

Finally, on 8 and 9 August, de Mellow & Co returned to the South Downs Show as sponsors of the event. We loved meeting some old and new faces.
A huge thank you to everyone who visited us at our stall, whether to “Guess the price in 2016”, to paint a piggy bank, or just to have a chat.
The talking point of the weekend? The cost of a Freddo just 10 years ago!
And for those who want to know the rest of the answers, here we go:
